Gunmen opened fire on a bus carrying members of the Shi'ite Muslim community in the southwestern province of Balochistan, killing eight of them and wounding one.
The attack occurred at a fruit and vegetable market on the outskirts of the provincial capital, Quetta, on October 23.
Senior local police official Imran Qureshi said the victims were members of the Shi’ite Hazara sect.
They were sitting in a bus after buying vegetables in Hazar Ganji market when unidentified gunmen opened fire.
No one claimed the responsibility the attack.
The Sunni extremist group Lashkar-e-Jhangawi has previously claimed similar attacks against Shi’a.
The independent Human Rights Commission of Pakistan says violence has pushed some 200,000 ethnic Hazaras, who are mainly Shi'a, to flee Balochistan over the past 10 years.
