A roadside bomb blast has wounded at least six Afghan army soldiers in the capital, Kabul.

Hashmat Stanekzai, the spokesman for Kabul's police chief, said the bomb that exploded early on November 25 targeted an Afghan National Army minibus.

A large blast hours later shook buildings but the Kabul provincial police chief, General Mohammad Zahir, said it caused no casualties.

The cause of the second blast, in the center of the city, was not immediately known.

The Taliban insurgency claimed responsibility for the roadside bomb attack in an email to journalists.

The city has been hit by a growing number of bombings by the Taliban and other Islamist militants as foreign combat troops withdraw from a 13-year-long war, leaving behind a smaller support mission.

A magnetic bomb killed two U.S. troops in Kabul on November 24.
