Officials say a roadside bomb in eastern Afghanistan has killed seven people, including four children.

No group claimed responsibility for the April 3 attack, which occurred in Logar Province.

But such bomb attacks have often been employed by the Taliban and other militant Islamic groups.

The explosion came when a car carrying two families rode over the bomb.

A woman was also among the dead.

The incident comes after a roadside bomb killed a family of seven on March 30 in the province of Ghazni.

The number of civilians killed and wounded in Afghanistan increased by 22 percent in 2014, according to the United Nations.
