A bomb has exploded in front of an office of Afghanistan's main news agency, wounding at least two people and causing damage.

The blast took place on June 11 at the office of the Pajhwok news agency in Jalalabad, the capital of the eastern province of Nangarhar.

No group claimed responsibility, but Pajhwok's editor in chief, Danish Karokhil, said militants had issued threats in the past.

"We have received threats and letters from insurgents from time to time when they were not happy about our stories and coverage of incidents," Karokhil said.

He also urged the government to do more to protect journalists in the country.

At least three journalists were killed in attacks last year.

Prosecutor Killed In North

In other news, Afghan officials say a bomb blast has killed a district prosecutor in the country's north.

Sayed Lugan, the governor of Faryab Province's Shirin Tagab district, said on June 11 that the bomb was attached to prosecutor Hamidullah Khan's vehicle.

Shirin Tagab is a remote district near the border with Turkmenistan.

No group has yet claimed responsibility for the attack.

Judicial officials have come under increasing attack by Taliban militants, who are fighting to overthrow the government in Kabul.
