A Taliban suicide car bomb has targeted a convoy of foreign soldiers in Kabul, killing at least three members of the NATO-led force and wounding 13 civilians.
Officials said the blast tore through cars on the main airport road near the U.S. Embassy on September 16.
"We can confirm three International Security Assistance Force members died as a result of an enemy attack in Kabul today," a statement from the force said.
Their nationalities were not immediately clear.
Tensions are high following a disputed presidential election that has destabilized Afghanistan ahead of the withdrawal of most foreign troops by the end of the year.
Outgoing President Hamid Karzai reported progress after meeting feuding candidates Ashraf Ghani and Abdullah Abdullah on September 15.
Faizullah Zedki, a member of Ghani's election team, told RFE/RL that a power-sharing agreement could be signed on September 16.
