U.S. President Barack Obama will host the leaders of Afghanistan's unity government at the White House next month.
The White House said in a statement on February 27 that Afghan President Ashraf Ghani and Chief Executive Officer Abdullah Abdullah will hold talks with Obama on March 24.
The statement said Ghani and Obama will discuss security in Afghanistan, the country's economic development, and Washington's support for Kabul's reconciliation process with insurgent groups.
It will be the first meeting between the two leaders in the United States since Ghani was elected last summer.
The Afghan delegation will be in Washington from March 22-25.
Ghani and Abdullah are also due to meet with U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry at Camp David, outside of Washington.
The visit comes amid calls for Washington to keep a larger group of forces in Afghanistan than was originally planned.
