Pakistan Attacks Kill Five Security Personnel, 15 Militants

At least five members of Pakistan’s security forces and 15 militants have been killed in separate incidents in the country’s northwest.

Officials said on November 11 that the militants and three soldiers died overnight in when dozens of militants attacked a checkpoint of the paramilitary Frontier Corps in the Orakzai tribal region.

Six soldiers were wounded in the attack, which officials say was repulsed.

In Bajaur tribal district bordering Afghanistan, a roadside bomb killed two tribal security force personnel and wounded two others on November 11.

They were overseeing security for a door-to-door polio vaccination campaign.

In the town of Bannu, at least one person was killed and another wounded when a roadside bomb exploded near their vehicle.

A rodaside bomb targeting a judge in the southwestern city of Quetta killed two people and wounded some 20 others, but the judge survived.
