Pakistan Beats Ireland At Cricket World Cup

Pakistan's national cricket team has defeated Ireland by seven wickets at the Cricket World Cup in Australia to secure third place in Pool B and a last-eight showdown against hosts Australia next week.

West Indies finished fourth and will tackle co-host New Zealand for a place in the semifinals in Wellington next week.

The West Indies beat the United Arab Emirates by six wickets earlier in Napier to finish on six points, the same as Ireland, but ahead on their run rate.

That leaves South Africa facing Sri Lanka in the first quarter-final in Sydney and defending champions India against Bangladesh in Melbourne next week.
