In a new audio recording, the son of Al-Qaeda founder Osama bin Laden has purportedly threatened revenge against the United States for killing his father.
In the audio message released by Al-Qaeda's media arm As-Sahab on July 10, Hamza bin Laden said Americans are accountable for the decisions of their leaders.
He said the militant group will continue waging jihad, or holy war, against the United States in response to its "oppression" of Muslims.
"If you think that your sinful crime that you committed in Abbottabad has passed without punishment, then you thought wrong," he said.
Bin Laden was killed in a May 2011 U.S. raid at his compound in Abbottabad, Pakistan.
His son's whereabouts are not known.
Analysts have speculated that he may be preparing to take over leadership of Al-Qaeda.
