Pakistan's military has reportedly killed at least 25 militants and destroyed four of their hideouts in air strikes in a northwestern tribal region.

Security officials said the attacks targeted militants in the Datta Khel area of North Waziristan close to the Afghan border on October 27.

They said 10 militants were also wounded in the strikes.

The Pakistani military launched an offensive in June aimed at clearing North Waziristan of the Pakistani Taliban and other insurgent groups, using air strikes, artillery, mortars, and ground troops.

It says it has killed more than 1,000 militants and lost some 100 soldiers in the operation, but the numbers cannot be independently verified.
