Pakistan's military says a series of air strikes in the North Waziristan tribal area has killed about 30 militants.
A statement from Pakistani forces on August 5 said the 30 were killed when "six terrorist hideouts were destroyed through aerial strikes."
It says the targets were in the Dattakhal, Marsikhel, and Kamsham areas of North Waziristan.
Pakistani forces started attacks on militant position in the tribal areas bordering Afghanistan in May and then launched a ground offensive into the region several weeks later after militants carried out a bold overnight assault on Karachi's airport.
Pakistan's military says more than 550 militants and 29 government soldiers have been killed so far in the operations.
The fighting has displaced more than 800,000 residents of North Waziristan.
