Pakistani police say they killed three Al-Qaeda militants during a gunfight in the southern port city of Karachi on May 29 after raiding their hideout.
Authorities say the raid was in Gulshan-e-Buner, a low-income neighborhood of Karachi.
Senior police official Rao Muhammad Anwar said the militants belonged to a branch of the terrorist network known as Al-Qaeda in the Indian Sub-Continent.
Anwar identified one of the militants as Riaz Rajo, saying that he was wanted in connection with the killing of police and the murders of minority Shi’ite Muslims in Karachi.
