A Pakistani court has delayed the indictment of former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and his daughter and son-in-law on corruption charges following clashes between his supporters and police.

The clashes outside the court in Islamabad broke out shortly on October 13 before the arrival of Sharif's daughter Maryam Nawaz and son-in-law Mohammad Safdar. Sharif again failed to appear before the judge because his wife is ill and being treated in London.

Following the violence, the judge adjourned the case until October 19.

Sharif, his daughter, his son-in-law, and his two sons face corruption allegations stemming from an investigation into documents leaked from a Panama law firm that indicated that Sharif and some of his family members had undisclosed assets abroad.

Sharif was disqualified from office in July. He denies any wrongdoing.
