Two Pakistani Military Pilots Killed In Training Aircraft Crash

Two Pakistani military pilots were killed when their plane crashed during a training mission near the northwestern city of Peshawar, the country’s military said.

The military’s media service said in a statement on March 22 that no damage was caused on the ground. It has ordered an investigation into the cause of the crash.

"Pakistan army training aircraft on routine training mission crashed near Peshawar,” it said without providing details.

Deadly crashes are relatively common among trainer aircraft used by the Pakistani military, which purchases most of its equipment from China.

In 2019, 19 people were killed, most of them inside their homes, when a Pakistani military aircraft crashed into a residential area near Rawalpindi.

In 2020, a Pakistan Air Force F-16 jet crash near Islamabad during rehearsals for a military parade, killing the pilot.
