Iranian state media reports say Iran has launched several ballistic missiles at militants in Syria that Tehran blames for a recent attack on an Iranian military parade that killed at least 24 people and wounded more than 60.

Iran’s Fars news agency reported on October 1 that several militants were killed by the Iranian missile attack, which targeted a camp in the Albu Kamal region of eastern Syria.

Iran has blamed Iranian Arab separatists for the September 22 attack in the southwestern Iranian city of Ahvaz, the capital of Khuzestan Province.

But Islamic State (IS) militants also have claimed responsibility for the attack on the military parade.

The official website of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) said on October 1 that the target was “the headquarters of those responsible for the terrorist crime in Ahvaz.”

It said the ballistic missiles were fired by the aerospace branch of the IRGC.
