State media reports in Uzbekistan say nine people, including six soldiers, have been killed in the crash of a military helicopter in the eastern part of the country.
The reports say the crash of a Soviet-designed Mi-171 transport helicopter occurred on October 18 in Uzbekistan's Fergana region near the border with Kyrgyzstan.
A Defense Ministry statement described the crash of its helicopter as an "accident" that killed all three crew members and six soldiers on board.
Uzbekistan's Defense Ministry has set up a special state commission to investigate the crash.
