Chinese leader Xi Jinping's first presidential visit to Pakistan has been reportedly postponed amid political unrest in the South Asian country.
Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said on Twitter on September 5 that Xi's visit had postponed and blamed protesters who have been demanding his resignation during demonstrations in Islamabad since mid-August.
Three protesters were killed when demonstrators tried to storm Sharif's residence on August 30.
Sharif later told parliament that "doubts have surfaced about the visit of the Chinese president."

Xi's first visit to Pakistan since taking office last year was expected in mid-September.
Pakistani Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Tasnim Aslam said on September 5 that discussions about the visit were continuing.
Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Qin Gang sidestepped a question about the issue, saying the visit hadn't been formally announced.
Xi is scheduled to visit Pakistan's long-time rival India later this month.
