Workers at Afghanistan's state-run Afghan Film are digitizing thousands of movies they saved from being destroyed by the Taliban two decades ago. During their brutal rule between 1996 and 2001, the Taliban banned many popular forms of entertainment and burned films. Now, about 7,000 movies that were hidden away are being preserved digitally with the goal of one day being screened across the country. (AFP, Reuters)
