A moderate earthquake centered in Afghanistan has sent shock waves across South Asia.
The epicenter of the magnitude-5.9 quake was near the city of Feyzabad in northeastern Afghanistan.
Shaking was felt in Kabul, some 290 kilometers away.
It was also felt in Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province; in Pakistan's capital, Islamabad; and in the capital of India, Delhi.
Tremors were reported in the India-controlled portions of the disputed Kashmir region.
There were no immediate reports of damage or casualties. However, a magnitude-5.6 earthquake in eastern Afghanistan in 2013 killed 13 people and destroyed dozens of buildings.
