For more than 15 centuries (from the sixth century B.C. to the 11th century A.D.), the historical region of Gandhara, which extends from today's northwestern Pakistan into eastern and central Afghanistan, gave the world spectacular art and architecture. Aftab Ahmad spoke with experts and visited museums and archaeological cites to discover the spirit of Gandhara or the "land of fragrance" that still inspires a peaceful future for Pakistan and Afghanistan.
