Herat's Silk Weavers Still Working Their Wooden Looms

Workers in Afghanistan's Herat Province are still producing silk the traditional way, separating the fabric from the silkworm cocoons in boiling pots and weaving on wooden looms. But the industry is in long-term decline with fewer people buying natural silk, both at home and in historical export markets such as Iran.
